Jade Redefined For The Modern Woman

Who would have thought jade could look so chic?
For most of us, jade conjures up image of your granny and her green jade bangle that is a fixture on her arm.

A new homegrown brand intends to transform this traditional, historic stone and up its style ante. Targeted at modern stylish women, Ms. Wong aims to shed the fusty image of jade with a series of contemporary and elegant jewellery pieces. It will feature jade of various unusual colours, including black, lavender, yellow, white and red, and will pair the stone with silver, gold or rose gold.

A confluence of east and west, Ms. Wong is the brainchild of Loh Hsiao Ying, owner of local vintage boutique Granny’s Day Out. While she has always loved antique jade jewellery, Loh was unable to find updated and chic pieces. She decided to design her own collection, which is manufactured in Hong Kong using jadeite from Myanmar, where most of the world’s jade supply is from.

nana & bird is pleased to present Ms. Wong's inaugural collection, inspired by geometrics and Art Deco. As part of the launch, we are hosting a small get-together this Sunday, 15 June from 2pm to 5pm. Join us for a date with Ms. Wong over some wine and canapés.
